This year’s exhibition is “Schools – Then and Now” and records the work of the church and chapels to provide education before compulsory and free education was introduced in the 19th century.

Annual Events

Medieval May Day Market

We participate in the village’s annual Medieval May Day Market, a full day event of market stalls performers and music on Borough Street. Look out For the museum’s street stall of traditional games and visit our tombola and exhibition at the museum.

The Museum opens from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.    Monday 6th May

Santa’s Grotto

On Friday 6th December, during the late-night Christmas shopping event, the Christmas lights will be switch on in the Market Place with carols, reindeer and snow. The museum is transformed into Santa’s Grotto. Entry is free for adults. £4 for each child receiving a gift.
